A Historic Milestone Takes Flight

On November 1st and 2nd, 2025, history was made in Tunisian skies Etihad Airways launched its inaugural direct flight between Abu Dhabi 🇦🇪 and Tunis 🇹🇳, marking a new era of connectivity between the UAE and Tunisia. To celebrate this momentous occasion, Etihad Airways chose Azur City Mall, one of Tunis's most vibrant commercial destinations, as the stage for a dedicated brand pavilion.

And behind every detail of that pavilion? EFFECT Global entrusted with the full production, design, and on-ground organization of this milestone activation.

The Brief: Create an Experience as Bold as the Flight Itself

When Etihad Airways wanted to celebrate their arrival in Tunisia with the Tunisian public, they needed more than a simple stand. The goal was to create an immersive, brand-true experience that would:

  • Celebrate the historic Abu Dhabi–Tunis route launch
  • Engage Azur City Mall visitors across two full days
  • Reflect Etihad's premium identity, warmth, and global prestige
  • Generate buzz, footfall, and lasting brand impressions

EFFECT Global rose to the challenge, handling everything from concept and design through to fabrication, logistics, and live event management delivering a pavilion that stopped shoppers in their tracks.

Inside the Pavilion: A Journey from Tunis to Abu Dhabi

The Runway Entrance "TUN" Underfoot

The pavilion's most iconic visual element greeted visitors the moment they approached: a runway-inspired floor installation bearing the IATA airport code "TUN" a direct nod to Tunis-Carthage International Airport. Bold white runway markings on a dark surface led visitors through an archway designed to evoke the threshold of a departure gate, instantly signalling the aviation theme and setting the tone for the experience ahead.

Warm LED lighting along the arch edges created a welcoming, premium glow, while the interior screen displayed a cinematic shot of Abu Dhabi's skyline at golden hour a visual promise of the destination awaiting.

The Gold ETIHAD Statement Signage

At the pavilion's entrance, large illuminated ETIHAD letters in gold and white served as both a welcome sign and a premium photo opportunity. These 3D letters bold, back-lit, and impossible to miss anchored the visual identity of the entire stand and became a natural selfie moment for visitors, amplifying the pavilion's reach organically across social media.

A geometric gold-frame diamond structure flanked the signage, echoing Etihad's brand design language and adding an architectural dimension to the space.

Giveaways Wall — Giveaways Up for Grabs!

The interactive zone of the pavilion featured a striking "Giveaways Up for Grabs" wall a grid of gold question-mark panels inviting visitors to engage and discover what prizes were hidden behind each tile. This gamified element drew consistent crowds throughout both days, driving engagement and creating a fun, participatory energy around the Etihad brand.

The Destination Gallery & Lounge

On the rear side of the stand, Etihad's rich destination portfolio came to life through curated destination visuals and a dedicated "Tunis ↔ Abu Dhabi" route poster celebrating the new direct connection with an artistic illustration blending Tunisian blue-and-white architecture with UAE landmarks.

A warm lounge seating area with gold-accented ottomans and café-style tables invited visitors to sit, speak with Etihad brand ambassadors, and explore flight options in a relaxed, welcoming setting embodying the premium hospitality Etihad is renowned for.

The Scale: Full Production, Soup to Nuts

EFFECT Global managed the complete production lifecycle of this activation, including:

  • Concept & Creative Design — Translating Etihad's global brand standards into a locally resonant, contextually relevant pavilion
  • 3D Fabrication & Build — Constructing all structural elements: the arch, signage, walls, furniture, and floor graphics in-house
  • Logistics & Installation — Full setup and breakdown within Azur City Mall, coordinated with mall management
  • On-Site Event Management — Overseeing two full days of live activation, staffing, and visitor flow
  • Brand Compliance — Ensuring every visual, material, and touchpoint met Etihad's international brand guidelines

The Result: Two Days, One Destination, Thousands of Impressions

Over the course of November 1st and 2nd, the Etihad Airways Pavilion at Azur City Mall drew consistent footfall from the mall's diverse, high-traffic visitor base. Families, travelers, and curious shoppers all stopped to explore, engage with the giveaway wall, take photos in front of the illuminated ETIHAD letters, and learn about the exciting new Abu Dhabi route.

The pavilion served not just as a celebration of a new flight route, but as a powerful brand introduction for Etihad Airways in the Tunisian market warm, premium, and deeply memorable.
