Baykar & Avionav — IADE 2020 Aerospace & Defence Pavilion, Djerba

EFFECT delivered this exhibition project in Tunisia — Djerba-Zarzis International Airport — IADE 2020, combining creative design, technical execution, and operational excellence to create a high-impact brand experience.

01 — Challenge

What We Were Asked to Solve

Baykar Turkey and Avionav needed to create a commanding exhibition presence at IADE 2020, the first edition of the International Aerospace and Defence Exhibition, held from 4 to 8 March 2020 at Djerba-Zarzis International Airport in Tunisia. The event welcomed 111 exhibitors from 38 countries and 42 official delegations, with an average of 4,600 professional visitors per trade day and 13,000 visitors per public day. The 8 by 8 metre pavilion had to accommodate and display physical aerospace assets while meeting the strict safety and operational requirements of an active airport environment. The project was realised in parallel with the Pakistan Pavilion and the Aksa Run Flat stand, requiring simultaneous management of multiple complex builds.

02 — Solution

How We Delivered It

A raised structural platform accommodates the Avionav aircraft as the centrepiece of the pavilion. LED towers in Baykar's signature navy and electric blue frame the display perimeter, creating a highly visible presence across the expo floor. The Avionav brand is rendered in 3D letters at 1.2 metre height on the platform surface, readable from the full length of the exhibition area. The pavilion was produced over 3 weeks, with structural engineering required to achieve a platform capable of supporting the weight of the aircraft on display. LED towers were custom-fabricated. Coordination with Djerba-Zarzis International Airport authority was required for aircraft transportation clearance, positioning, and on-site safety compliance. On-site installation was completed in 3 days by a dedicated crew, running concurrently with the Pakistan Pavilion and Aksa Run Flat builds.

The Baykar and Avionav pavilion was one of the most prominent displays at IADE 2020, Tunisia's first international aerospace and defence exhibition, drawing strong attention from the professional delegations and decision-makers attending the event.
